The love for sanding, painting and polyurethane runs in my family. My mom is Queen Refinisher. Her most recent project is a 30 year old wood high chair, first used by me! She is the furthest thing from a pack rat - actually the complete opposite - so it is amazing that she has hung on to both this piece of furniture and my original crib (that Marshall uses when he is visiting Grandma and Grandpa). We went over to inspect the finished project...and it is awesome! Marshall approved and can now "sit and be a part of the family" at dinner time (as my nephew Gabe would say). The best part about the chair is the little initials she painted on the foot step...they include those of each child that has sat in the chair - me, my brother, my two cousins, and now Marshall. Notice she left plenty of room for additional initials. Maybe we'll leave that to Louie and Naomi!
