It is hard as a mom to grasp reality at times...the reality that your once 8 lb, 11 oz newborn now calls you by your first name with a goofy grin on his face because he knows it cracks you up, the reality that he holds his PB&J in his hands like a big boy and sips a juice box at the same time, the fact that he's got his own little sense of humor, the reality that our little baby boy is now TWO years old!  It's honestly hard to remember what life was like before he came into our world.

Words can't express how much love he has added to our lives these past few years.   And this age seems to be just about the sweetest there could ever be.  When I am old and wrinkled and I think about Marshall as I kid, I am definitely going to have his two-year old little self in mind.  I am so thankful for every day I get to teach and love and take care of our little man.

My motto for these early birthdays is sweet and simple. Keeping them that way seems to help him enjoy them a little more. We met some buddies at an indoor playground today and plan to eat a gourmet birthday dinner at his favorite, Chic-fil-a, tonight. This weekend his fan club (aka...his family) will be coming over for a Yo Gabba Gabba cake and ice cream party. We just can't wait to see the smile on his face when we surprise him with his special birthday present!

Happy Birthday, Marshall Barry!
