Who's the Boss?

Seems that Mr. Marshall is developing some assertive independence along with his newfound mobility. This is making for some VERY interesting challenges. To name a few...

  • Car rides - Does not like his carseat for longer then 10 minutes. And they say driving while on your cell phone is dangerous...try a 7 month old in the back seat testing out his vocal cords. He does not like to be restrained and he will let you know it!
  • Diaper changes - What happened? He use to love the changing table! Makes me think twice about stopping him to make sure his little bootie doesn't get diaper rash.
  • Eating - The high chair has become waaaaay to interesting (the belt clips, the drips of food that can be swirled around on the tray, the list goes on). It is all so interesting that he is LEAST interested in the food that is being served while in it.
  • Naps - I thought I had it rough when his naps where only 45 minutes long. Now he has figured out how to make it through the day with a few 30 minute naps! Our only saving grace is that he sleeps 11-12 hours at night.

The running joke lately is the score between us...as in "Marshall-3, Mom and Dad- zip". We are usually down a few points these days. It's a good thing he's a cute baby with a smile that can light up the world.

Here are a few pictures from last week when we were "Grandma-sitting" my mom and her broken leg.

Grandma, work can wait! Play with me!

I don't know what this thing is...but I like it.

I feel your pain....especially on the changing table. He use to love it. That's so over. He actually stood up on it yesterday. He grabbed his diaper caddy and pulled up all the way to a stand.

I have to feed him with multiple spoons as well b/c he grabs them and then throws them when he is finished. The dogs are quickly learning to sit near when it is feeding time. :)

especially about feeding. she loves the buckles on the highchair and if i spill a drop on the tray she is fascinated with it!
