Back to Business

Made it back from the beach this past Thursday night. The trip home went as planned. Marshall slept the entire way...through thunderstorms, an almost-hold-up at an Alabama gas station, and a chase by a crazy trucker (I kept thinking it was Large Marge in that truck behind us...not sure if anyone knows who that is or not...Mike didn't). Traveling at night has different challenges. You come across much stranger things on the road in the dark. Not to mention stranger people. My new mom paranoia kept me waiting for a large buck to dart across the highway in front of our car. We both agree that it is still worth the night drive with a baby that sleeps the entire way. This will most likely be our preferred method of road travel for a while I think.

A few more pix from our family vacation:
Dawson-Stoeckig grill-out the night before we left.

Marshall's likely last time in the Baby Bjorn. A little too squeezed in there these days and we can't loosen the thing up anymore. Very sad. It served us well though.

Grandma and Grandpa anxiously waited for our return all week. They babysat while we helped Judd celebrate his 30th.

Michael is back at work today after a whole week with us. Little Dog and I miss him already. Luckily we had a great weekend together before he had to go back to his routine.
Michael and Marshall hanging out on the train tracks in Downtown Buford.
That's all for now. We are headed over to Grandma's today to visit her and her newly broken leg. Poor Grandma!!! Good thing Marshall and I are home and can help take care of her!
