The last week and half really felt like spring break for us...not in the sunburn, airbrushed t-shirt sort of way...but the have fun outside, fire up the grill, and get projects done sort of way. Hence no post for over a week.
Spring break started with a nice visit from Aunt Naomi right before Easter. She came to make a special delivery to Mr. Marshall from she and Uncle Lou - a Mickey Mouse Easter book. M is lucky to have an English teacher for an aunt...his library is always growing. Little Dawg was happy to drag her around the backyard making her partake in all his favorite activities.

Early last week Michael's sister, Jennifer, and I loaded all three boys in the car and headed over to the Yellow River Game Ranch, home of the friendliest deer in the country. When we pulled up it looked just the same as it always did (we all grew up down the street from the game ranch). But inside they had a bunch of new animals that I didn't remember from my childhood, including big fat buffalo and dangerous wildcats! There were, however, still chickens that ran around making all sorts of racket and roosters cock-a-doodle-doing louder than Marshall desired. Unfortunately, we spent a good bit of our time dodging the dang chickens that were freaking M out! Then there were the animal crackers to feed the animals - how fun for a little kid?! Ha! M decided he was more hungry for those crackers than the animals were...but was definitely amused watching Gabe and Ethan give their crackers away. We shared lunch at Chick-fil-A afterwards before the boys all konked out during the car ride home. It was such a fun day for us all.

Deciding it was more fun to feed Aunt Jennifer than the animals...
Pulling cousin Gabe around the game ranch...
Cute bunch of cousins.
Michael was able to take time off and work from home for the rest of the week which was fabulous. We got a ton done around the house, played outside, and celebrated his birthday by doing a little shopping, stopping by the Oldies concert at Suwanee Town Center and grilling his favorite - rainbow trout! Marshall loves having his dad around. Whenever he has several days home in a row it is always a little sad when he puts his dress shirt and tie back on. M knows right away that his Dad is heading back to work. Lucky for all of us he figured out how to give kisses this weekend...so that made it a little easier when he left this morning. :) Happy Birthday, Michael!
